A Much Needed Return to the World of Hobbies

I have finally returned!

It's been a little over a year since I blogged last - in fact I let my domain go, and didn't decide to renew it until now. I'm glad no one picked it up, or noticed, because I really did miss it.

I've had a long hiatus from many of my hobbies, including painting my nails and doing makeup reviews. I'm starting up a new personal blog to highlight all of 2012's events, and beyond. I'll have the link up when i'm done setting up my blog, but for now you'll have to excuse the short version of the story.

As many of you know, I was engaged last year in April. Long story short, I am no longer with that person. This year has been a tiresome journey of emotional ups and downs, psychotropic medications, and new endeavors - both good and bad. It's been one hell of a ride, but now that my life is seemingly starting to stabilize, I can refocus on myself and the things I like doing just for me. I like singing obnoxiously to music, I like Marlboro Menthol Black 100s, and I apparently like blogging in my skivvies. I'm refocusing on what makes ME happy, and what makes me, me.

Now besides all that mushy stuff, my cuticles have been one hell of a wreck. I work as a floral clerk, so I am constantly using my hands and they just get dried out so easily these days. I currently have absolutely no nail polish or makeup on right now, so I have nothing to post of substance, but I'm sure I have a few pictures from the last year somewhere.

It feels good to be back. Ganbarimasu.

NOTW: Halloween Nails

It has been a long time since I did my nails. I've actually been really loving just my plain old nails with a coat of clear gloss. BUT of course, I can't stay that way for long. I've actually been dealing with a lot of personal issues, but HEY i'm back now. You can head over to the SEOTS link if you really are DYING to know more.

Halloween nails! I used Wet N Wild Fast Dry in 9.0.2.1.Orange for my french tips, Wet N Wild Wild Shine in Kaleidoscope for some nice little glitz over that. Then I detailed using Migi Nail Art pens (they are SO awesome, I need everyone to check this out!) with little pearl white dots on the border of the french tip, and a hand drawn black bow on my ring finger accent nail. I think it came out pretty cute aside from the bows looking a little like scissors. ;)

Also, I realized that Wet N Wild  Fast Dry in 9.0.2.1.Orange is almost an exact dupe for Zoya Tanzy. Wet N Wild might be a little less pigmented, but not by much. Two coats of each yield the same effect.

I have no idea what i'm going to be for halloween, but i'm sure it's going to involve paint and makeup - i'll definitely post pics on here! :)

Blog Sale! WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY

I've decided that it's time to clean out my nail polish and makeup stash! I haven't been using these pretty babies for many reasons (swatched, doesn't look good on me, haven't had an excuse to use them, have dupes, etc.), and it's time for them to find a new home. I'm not a big spender, and i've swatched or made a mani out of most of these, so they will be discounted from the already inexpensive price I bought them for.

Here are the rules:
1. No international shipping. Sorry, the expense is too great right now.
2. You have to understand that I live in Hawaii. Sometimes they cannot ship nail polish by air (IDK WHY, that's just what I was TOLD... even though i've RECIEVED polish by air... <__<), which means the only other mode of transportation is boat. And that takes a long time. I've heard it was about a month by boat, depending on wherever it's going. So please be patient, and know that it might take a little time to get the polish you've ordered.
3. No refunds. Once i've shipped it out (with a lot of precautions - bubble wrap, extra padding, etc.), I am NOT liable for damage. I promise i'll do the best I can to help create a nice cloud-like atmosphere for these fragile items, but I can't help it if the mailman is a little free-handed with the boxes.
4. Paypal only if you're ordering from outside O'ahu. Check or cash is fine if I meet you in person. You will not be charged for any shipping if I meet you in person. :)
5. First come, first served. That's generally how blog sales work. Leave a comment, e-mail me, text me, call me, chat with me. Anything goes!
6. Shipping is a flat rate of $4.50.
7. Payment first. I am a trustworthy seller, I have people to vouch for me, and i've been ripped off too many times in the past. Sorry kids, that's just the way it is.

Okay! So have a look and let me know if you want anything! :)

NOTW: Konad Plate m11 with Zoya Breezi

I'm late, I know. But believe it or not, I did do a mani in between this one and the last one, I just didn't like it. Though I got two compliments on it. Hmm. I didn't take any pictures of it, but it was basically the same as the last french mani, but with Zoya Charla on the tips, and Zoya Savita with Wet N Wild Hannah Pinktana over it on the ring finger accent nail. I also added the same flower on the accent nail, but in Zoya Charla to tie it all in. :)

So last night a couple of my friends and I decided to go for a midnight walk around town. We ended up at Longs (CVS) and I bought a new Konad plate along with some stickers that i'll use in a later mani. The plate I got was m11, and it's got these cute as hell creatures on it. I used the two octopuses that make a heart with one of their tentacles. Like this: /^0^ ^0^\ . If that makes any sense whatsoever. Lulz.

I probably could have done a better job, but honestly, i'm out of practice. I'll definitely change them soon though, for my birthday nails! :D

Pinky:

On the tips I put NYX Maven and Nubar 2010 for a little starry glitz :)

Hope you like it! I think it's adorable! :)

NOTW: It's been three freaking weeks since I did my nails. What is this I don't even

I recently went on a trip to California and surprisingly enough, did not do my nails before the trip specifically FOR the trip, and didn't do them while I was there. AND (if that's not blasphemous enough) I didn't do them when I got home, either. My phalanges have been a train wreck.

Anyway, I decided to do a nice, simple, delicate french tip mani this week. I chose one of my favorite colors, Sephora by OPI Handpicked for Me, and decided to add a flower on an accent nail. Simple and cute. I can't remember the last time I did a french!

I have to admit though, it was nice to have some down time with my nails. I haven't left them unpainted for probably, oh a year or so. Sometimes it's just nice to feel natural and content with what you got. :)

I have been SO out of touch with reading blogs... I should probably dive in and see what's going on!

I did however, create a low-carb support group blog for people in my area. I'm trying to eat sugar free and low carb as much as my harrowing sugar addiction lets me, but it's definitely a journey. Visit the blog here.

Have an awesome day!
